About Me

Hey! My name is Marshall (they/he/she) and I’m a queer, Korean-American actor, writer, performer with a passion for diverse, funny, and truthful stories.

I’m a firm believer in shaping a more colorful, truthful landscape in our industry. I push for new stories that bring voices to the table that we otherwise may not get to see all that often.

Originally from Arlington, Massachusetts (about 6 miles north of Boston!), I started performing professionally around the Greater Boston Area since high school. Since then, I’ve been so excited to be a part of new work, put a twist on old work and bring joy to what we often take SO seriously.

In addition to acting, I’ve written and produced multiple new works in New York City, at Penn State, and beyond. In 2021, a reading of my first play, The Reunion, was directed by Steve Broadnax III (Thought of a Colored Man). In April 2022, Penn State Acting produced another one of my plays, (t)RUST, at the Downtown Theatre on Penn State’s campus. In April 2023, we brought my original play, (t)RUST, to The Tank NYC for its New York City debut!

When I’m not acting, I’m probably reading (although I’m better at buying books than reading them haha), painting in my room or re-watching Fleabag. I’m learning how to play piano (also a lie, more like I look at my piano and think about it) and want to learn how to sew my own clothes.

“Isn’t that what we’re here for? To need people?”
